Robyn, as I indicated before, was extremely helpful in planning and executing another family trip.An all-inclusive luxury resort in the Mexican Caribbean, with 83 hectares of natural beauty enhanced in 3 different environments: Zen Grand – 254 suites with views of the jungle and mangroves Ambassador – 195 suites with ocean view and Grand Class – 90 suites facing the sea. Although this is considered a 5 Star resort, since my husband and I were paying a lot for this vacation, we would rate it 4 because of the restaurants. He was able to handle several large family groups at the same time. He coordinated everything for us from room assignments to dinner reservations to spa appointments to returning to the airport. Our concierge, Jorge, was exceptional, however. Even though the staff were polite and well trained in serving I would not go there again. We all got steak and it was presented very tough, chewy, and with lots of fat! This was not at all like 2019 when we dined here. We were extremely dissatisfied with the food here. During the week my husband and I took the four teenagers to the French restaurant located in the adult section of the resort. I missed having cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie, too. I would have liked to see more green vegetable offerings as well as REAL turkey stuffing made only with breadcrumbs, not added sausage or pork products.

Most “hot” dishes were just warm so by the time we sat down the food was cold. Unfortunately both my husband and I were disappointed with the food choices and temperature of the food for Thanksgiving dinner at Azul. The family liked the Asian restaurant but my husband did not as he doesn’t eat sushi. We opted out of Frida this time because we were disappointed in the food choices there on our previous trip in 2019. My husband and I were disappointed this time around with the restaurants’ food choices. The four teenagers aged 15, 16, 17, and 18 played beach volleyball with kids they met and took walks, enjoyed the sunshine during the day, and joined family at night to eat and then sing karaoke or watch entertainment provided by the hotel. The four youngest boys aged 5, 7, 8, and 10 loved the kid’s club activities throughout the week. We all appreciated Umberto who took care of us poolside, constantly bringing us food and drinks. As we were still aware of some Covid restrictions outside the resort, we all chose to stay at the resort and eat, relax by the pool and beach, and enjoy the spa. Our 8 grandchildren range in age from 5 years old to 18 and they each had things to occupy their time. We were warmly welcomed and the staff were very hospitable during our stay. This was our 3rd family visit to the Grand Velas Resort in Cancun during the week of Thanksgiving using the wonderful help of Robyn Ayers at Dream Makers Vacation Services.
